TransferGo, the international fintech company, has joined the “Total Defence Lithuania” association as a patron. Founded by Lithuanians, the company has signed the “Total Defence” charter, thereby committing to strengthen its collective readiness for crisis situations and to create the conditions for employees to contribute more actively to the country’s security.
Under TransferGo’s current internal policy, employees can take up to 12 additional paid days off and two volunteering days per year. Having joined the association, TransferGo will encourage its team to make purposeful use of an individually chosen number of days off and volunteering days, and to take an active part in activities that strengthen national resilience.
“We live in the shadow of russia’s brutal war against Ukraine, and our country’s geographical position does not allow us to remain indifferent. National security and total defence are the responsibility of every one of us. We all need to contribute to safeguarding our country’s security and to strengthening civic-minded behaviour,” says Daumantas Dvilinskas, CEO and co-founder of TransferGo.
“As an employer, we will support and encourage our team to join total defence initiatives, both collectively and individually. We will organise targeted team training, encourage colleagues to make meaningful use of their chosen number of days off and volunteering days, and support colleagues who choose voluntary military service,” Dvilinskas added.
The “Total Defence” association brings together Lithuanian businesses that are committed to creating conditions that make it easier for their employees to contribute to national defence. A number of Lithuania based companies have already signed the charter. Tomas Godliauskas, head of the “Total Defence” association, has publicly noted that such commitments are setting a new labour-market standard — one that benefits employees, employers and the state alike.
